Acupuncture and IVF in Orange County

Many of my patients love acupuncture during treatment. Here’s how it can help and how to fit it in alongside IVF.

How acupuncture can help

Fertility treatment can make you feel like a passenger. Acupuncture is something you choose for yourself, and that sense of actively caring for your body is valuable. Patients often tell me their sessions are the one hour a week when they feel calm and cared for. Anything safe that helps you cope, sleep better, and feel more like yourself is worth embracing.

The research is encouraging too. Newer studies, including a 2026 study in the European Journal of Integrative Medicine (doi:10.1016/j.eujim.2026.102765), support acupuncture for improving IVF transfer outcomes. I see it as a wonderful complement to your medical care.

Acupuncture is one part of caring for the whole person, along with nutrition, movement, and support through your IVF cycle.

Questions Patients Ask Me

Can acupuncture help my IVF cycle?

Many of my patients find it helpful. Acupuncture is a great support for stress and well-being during treatment, and newer research, including a 2026 study in the European Journal of Integrative Medicine, links it to better embryo transfer outcomes.

When should I get acupuncture during IVF?

Weekly sessions while you prepare and during stimulation work well for stress support, plus sessions around your embryo transfer. Share your transfer date with your acupuncturist so they can plan.

Is acupuncture safe during IVF and early pregnancy?

Yes, with a licensed, experienced practitioner it’s very low risk. Just let your acupuncturist know where you are in your cycle or that you’re pregnant.

Can you recommend an acupuncturist in Orange County?

Yes. I’m happy to share names of acupuncturists I trust who work with fertility patients. Ask me at your consultation.
